Technical Support: members pretending to be other members
Just a warning that in one room there was a member who changed his screenname a few times to try and trick the model, including another member's actual username. When this happens the member hides their emblem from the front of their username.

Yes, we do sometimes see this and don't want customers impersonating other customers. They can't match their username exactly to an existing customer, but can use other letters/numbers that look similar.
Report these immediately and we'll take action. Also, if you remember the date and the name of the model, send it over to customer service and we can usually find out who it is after the fact. Quote

I've been experiencing the same thing a few times.
The best thing I've found so far to prevent this is to set your flirt reward name to [ANONYMOUS], send tips anonymously, turn your color to white (when VIP) and hide your reward rank from other users. Doing so makes it a lot more difficult for potential username frauds to figure out that you're worth replicating ;) Quote

Some members get into mischief trying to ruin relationships between other members and models or make fun of other members. I try to create clones of my screen names and take them before anyone else just to keep them safe. Quote

Not if you only hide your rank from other users, but leave it displayed for performers

I had this happen too. Someone else impersonating me. He was not very successful. The model guessed an imposter was loose and wrote me. Scary stuff.

i usually have my own nickname for a camgirl or certain words i only use in whisper mode. this way if they ever get an impostor they know it's not me as a few have a similar name to mine.

Happened to me as well. The model knew instantly that it was a fake. Not only for the wrong time of day and acting completely differently, but I understand that models can see a member's history with them. Fakes will have zero history with the model, of course.

Happened to me years ago, asshole had a grudge against me for some reason, problem is the rooms he visited knew my style of conversation plus I had private nicknames for each model that when entering I would whisper a good*INSERT CORRECT TIME GREETING* {nickname}

I can only recall this happening to me once but the model immediately knew it was a fake and even made a joke of it being my "cousin".

I'm not sure if this is true but maybe the host has your chat history 'pop-up' whenever you log on (so they can ask you about something you mentioned to them a while back). also i know that when i have changed my nic and gone to one of my regular chat buddies, the girl knows it's me (your change of nic may be known to the hosts but not the other viewers). true if a girl is distracted or doesn't understand the how to use the software it can be easy for some prick to try to fool her. then again if i asked my chat buddies to strip or show something they would know its not me.
