maybe its not a problem in your room because you have no customers
but the real performers it is a issue that has been ongoing for far too long

If a select few are having this issue, doesn't it seem more likely that it's a user issue, not a site issue? Check your flash player for updates, restart your browser, restart your computer, all of those troubleshooting for beginners tasks. That's why I said this is not the biggest issue with Flirt right now, because it's not their problem, but I'm sure they will investigate and assist.

Good Evening,

I'll start by thanking everyone for their patience on this topic.

Earlier today we rolled out some changes to address the situation where you'll attempt to join a chat room but it never connects and instead displays the red-box-of-death before sending you to a different room (which may occur several times in a row). Our reporting indicates a sizable improvement but I'm here seeking feedback because I feel like we didn't address all possible ways to trigger the error. I've got some additional data points being gathered that should help me track down remaining instances but could use your help sorting through the noise.

Z-Money first of all where do you get this problem is only hitting a select few? if it is based on the number of comments in this thread that is in error as most people do not bother to complain they just pack up and take their business else ware when they have a bad experience. I also see from your post you are not a software engineer and do not understand how a site like this is programmed. VS spends a lot of time writing very complicated code and the clients browsers only run that code. Your 'basic trouble shooting list' are the common fixes for things like programs with memory leaks, corrupted pointers, etc., Yes restarting it does clean up these problems but if the site has a memory leak or code that will corrupt pointers they will come back, or any of a long list of possible coding problems (bugs). Restarting is just resetting the countdown until the problem happens again. Better to fix the oil leak in your car then to keep adding oil to keep it running.

Hi,
Could you please confirm this situation please? You had a chat room open on your iPad and then restarted it. Upon opening your browser again the room you were chatting in immediately before restarting appeared and that's when you encountered the error.

To put that differently: it didn't error when you first entered the room it errored out after you had been inactive in the room for some amount of time (due to the restart).

No, I restarted the iPad then tried to enter the room. I have also had this happen another couple of times today in different rooms. My point was just that restarting makes no difference to the odds of this happening.

More Information:
I was in a models room today and the loss of connection to the video server kept happening, I also logged into her room from an affiliated site and I noticed that when the disconnect happened it happened to both connections at the same time. When then I changed the affiliated site login to a different models room and when the disconnect happened on the F4F site it did not happen to the affiliated site. So that would lead me to beleive it is something in the model application she is running that is causing the disconnect. Also in the main model room guys tended to say they were disconnected at the same time and the model also got an 'black screen' in her application.

Its been going on all last week . you will be watching the video feed fine, then suddenly blank screen and the buffering logo . it usually resets on its own within a couple of seconds , but occasionally you have to refresh the page. It happens on both edge browser and chrome

Thank you to everyone that has chimed in to help us get a better idea of what we're dealing with. We've definitely seen an increase in the frequency that a performer gets disconnected from his/her video server which produces the red error boxes on the customer end. With improved focus we're working with several performers directly to try to figure this out.

Hang in there, we'll get to the bottom of it.

I am getting similar on an iPad using safari, but only get a red box do not get redirected to another model have to reset to get back to the same model

Are you guys ever going to fix this? It's well past getting frustrating!!! If not for a few models, I'd be going away, but, damn it...I'm a captive audience. Appreciate the status update. I love your customer service, but this is getting sad. I even changed modems and am still having the same issues with incredibly fast wifi.

I'm sure some of you have noticed that we've been having some network related issues that have caused an increase in the frequency of not being able to connect to rooms (and getting bounced to a different room) and connecting to video. We are working to bring things back to normal. Additionally, we've got some changes that we're finishing up for our performer broadcast software to improved the video situation on that end.

This is a good time to point out that lots of different kinds of issues can lead to not being able to connect to a room or the video of that room. We've already addressed a couple of these things and have seen an improvement and expect to see more improvements in the coming days as we resolve network issues and update performer software.

Same problem using Chrome. With Safari I cannot enter any of the rooms, it keeps reloading. Also no sound with Chrome or Safari in any room
