I hate the Yankees and everything to do with them including the name "Yankees"
Gotta give it to you though George, cause you did always "try" and give it your all !
Another name comes to mind and he owned another team i hate
Harold Ballard. I miss that old stubborn prick No matter what any Leaf fan has to say. He put one helluva entertaining team on the ice and always got the MLG a hoppin'.
He told it like it was (and still is in todays NHL) but sat amongst the fans as a fan and an owner !!!
Hope George and Harold can meet up and talk shop about their past endeavors and their talented team in the heavens Quote

And whats everyones take on the liverpool takeover by the redsox owner?
Wasn't West Bromwich Albion runner-up in the Champions? A Premier League mainstay should feast on them.
And I understand why Liverpool fans would be skeptical of more American owners. The group led by John Henry are the polar opposite of Tom Hicks (Former Texas Rangers owner) and George Gillett Jr.

Oops ... Leafs return to form 1 - 4 - 1 since that start
4 points behind of, and looking up like always at, ... the HABS Quote

I hope he takes them into administration(and oblivion thereafter) properly. Hicks and Gilette only did half a job in my opinion. I'd be willing to sacrifice the Red Sox if it took down the redshite. Quote

Here's hoping Peyton Manning has another 100+ straight starts in him
Perhaps you heard that Brett Favre's consecutive streak of games ended. Nursing a shoulder injury, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback finally sat out a game at Ford Field in Detroit; that's about one mile away from the former site of Briggs (Tiger) Stadium, where the New York Yankees' Lou Gehrig took himself out of the lineup May 2, 1939.
The Tarvaris Jackson of the day was no slouch, though most don't know, his name was penciled in at first base _____________________.
In late June, 1939 Gehrig officially retired after 17 major league seasons with 2,130 consecutive games played. That record stood for 56 years, until Cal Ripken broke it in 1995.
Gehrig's streak was one of the most hallowed records in baseball history. Seventy-one years later, it's still held in reverence, even though it was broken by Ripken.
Will Favre's run be viewed in the same legendary regard seven decades from now?
Uh ..... NO

Thankfully, UofM found someone cheaper
Last but not least:
SHERBROOKE, Quebec (AP) Pat Burns, the former Montreal police officer who led New Jersey to the 2003 Stanley Cup title and was the NHL's coach of the year with three teams, died Friday (Nov 19). He was 58.
Burns was the first three-time winner of the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top coach, receiving the honor with the Bruins, Maple Leafs, and Canadiens. He is the only person to win it with three teams. Quote

Toronto Pro Team Wins:
Argos win the Grey Cup
The Toronto Argonauts deserved to win this years' 100th Grey Cup. It was their time. Even with it being hosted in Toronto, too. They earned the respect. They had to beat the Montreal Alouettes in the Eastern Conference Final. Montreal, have usually ended up first in the conference.
