lol similar ideas:
1) Indian burial ground? No problem! Lay the foundation right there.
2) Trump 2012
3) We'll cool the core with gasoline. High octane.
4) Let's introduce Mr Lickins to K1ller. They'll make great lil' playmates.
5) Damn it's cold down here in the hold Pilgrim, let's make a fire.
6) I'd like a Pabst to go with my black forest cheesecake.
My additions
1. Allow companies to continue off balance sheet disclosures...I don't think anyone needs to know. (enron anyone)
2. No need to disclose intelligence reliability on weopons of mass destruction, no one needs to know.
3. Why does anyone need to know about what information congressmen are using for their investments.

I only pay attention in one room, frankly, and that's Dakota Bliss. She is quite adept at carrying on a number of conversations, both within open chat and with people whispering, and never misses a beat. On the rare occasion I pay attenion in other rooms, MOST of what I see is chatters asking models for this that or the other, and models urging tips and/or private shows. I know not all do it, because I occasionally see other conversation going on, but it's far from even half.
Whispers cause no harm. Simple as that. Quote

I've had models tell me that they don't have access to the F4F mail client. Don't know if this is BS, or not. But if it's true, then how would you communicate / negotiate a private?

Whisper is a good thing to have.

Removing the "Whispering" Function is a bad idea. Here's why...
As any customer, including yourself, would tell you that options are always a plus. It drives ideas, competition, and more educated purchases. As with anything in the world, it is abused. True. However, that is human nature to find loopholes around things.
But you cannot take away options from your members and not think it would create negative consequences. Netflix is a prime example. Netflix wanted took away their customer's options to either watch a movie in streaming of have a dvd delivered under one option. Instead, they divided the options into separate items at a higher price, causing an uproar among the users and a deluge of members dropping their Netflix accounts. Netflix once ruled digital viewing of movies and television shows. However, after a series of poor decisions, they are now threatened by competitors RedBox, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, and several others.
Now I do not think you will have as large an uproar as Netflix did, but you will alienate and turn off a lot of members who are appreciative of the options they have in communicating with their favorite models.
I do like the whispering function myself as I feel I can make a private comment directly at my favorite models - like inside jokes, an exchange of something from a previous conversation, etc.
One of the most frequently mentioned topics in the 2011 year-end survey was whispering. There has also been a very active thread in the VIP message forums on this topic for the past few months.
BACKGROUND: For the past couple of years we have limited whispering to where only customers can whisper to performers, i.e. the performer cannot whisper back.
Both sides of the issue definitely have good points. Whispering does provide the ability to send a private message to a performer, but at the cost of a disjointed conversation within the chat and a confusing experience for the performer.
Our goal going into 2012 has been finding ways to make the site more fun and part of those efforts centers around increasing the activity in the rooms. In its present state whispering detracts from the overall conversation and thus appears to run counter to our goals.
Starting Thursday, February 9th we will being to roll-out a chat system change to temporarily disable whispering for two-weeks. If you attempt to whisper the message will not be sent and you will be reminded about the temporary ban on whispering.
Whispering will still be available during paid shows, mostly applicable to multi-user shows.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we test this change to our site. We realize that there were many other good ideas about how to curtail whispers but we made a decision to test this change first.
Sincerely,
Brad

At the risk of being attacked from both sides, could I summarise what appear to be the main arguments for and against whispering to models:
FOR
- giving confidential advice or warnings to newer models (eg best to wait for tip before showing)
- making confidential suggestions (eg if you do group chat now for 500, I will go up to 250)
- avoiding embarassment in asking about particular fetishes or unusual requests
- avoiding intimidation by badly behaved members who ridicule, criticise or belittle
- making the relationship with the model feel more personal and intimate
AGAINST
- making the model appear unresponsive, and not "live"
- making the chat room appear dead and empty
- making the regular users feel excluded
- causing confusion when model replies to whispers rather than on-screen questions
If this is a fair summary, I think the balance of the argument is in favour of whispering. However, the negative aspects are reduced if whispering can be kept to a minimum.
There have been some interesting compromise solutions suggested including: whisper limits, making whispers available to VIPs only, letting individual models decide whether some or all members in their room can whisper, and general warnings or comments to discourage too much whispering.
One new suggestion: VS have made it easier to whisper by simply requiring a "/" before typing the whisper. Previously it was necessary to type "/" and the first 3 letters of the model's name and a space. Perhaps if it was necessary to type something like "/whisper/" first, it might keep down the amount of whispering. Just a thought.... Quote

But since you're so absolute, why not charge 10 credits for every "show your tits/ass/feet baby" or "change into ____ and i'll take you private for an hour" when there's no intent to spend a dime, while you're at it.

oh fuck. i'm keeelling my own argument but thought things are getting too tense 'round here...
anyway, jokes aside - as many would argue, flirt was fine before whispers were introduced - but i would argue that flirt was also fine before tipping, before party chat, before group chat too! everything evolves and adapts - no sense in going back now. whispers were there and we should have learned to deal with it like we did all other "functions and features" that were introduced. is flirt saying that the state of the site is not as good as it was pre-whispers? i think not. but that's just me.
ok what if i type "/yesbradyouarethemanisitokifiwhispernow hi bb" Quote
