Exactly the reason why most of us joined the site and the whisper basically kills that way to incourage new people to join as members. I have to say since the site added it I have seen a lot less new people in the chat rooms (maybe because they whisper, doubt it but maybe some) or they are just not incouraged to register after being a free grey user and getting no attention or the chat just seems to make no sense because half the converstaion is hidden or worse like I said it makes the chat rooms look like they are recorded and not live (we have all seen some advert or site spam that does the fake video and chat i'm sure). I think it is ashame when new people like the site but can't get a reaction from the performers or may not even type because they think it is generated chat and recorded video.
Happy to see you realised many nice performers here and many that will take the time to chat to all and even incourage grey users nicely to register as members. to these performers for taking the time to do that . I enjoy seeing new blood added to the site in the forms of new performers and customers.
Ok let me counter this argument. Oh wait I can't. Don't have the software or the time to get the numbers to find it one way or the other. So I have to take it on faith that you have the eagle eye perspective because of how you use the site or your history or... or... or I can just believe that you have made your own subjective take on things using the same limited perceptions as everyone else.
Now I expect the site to have plenty of time and resources to answer this question for themselves. Fine go to it. Could avoid the whole debate. Just painlessly and rationally evaluate it. Who could argue with that?
But when the site does this I hope they aren't foolish enough to limit the analysis to the whisper. Make it a sincere effort to gauge the new member question, etc, etc. Let the data take you where it may. Try not to let preconceptions influence you.

Now another point regarding why this issue is such a fun spectator sport:
Suppose that like me you believe that a good old fashioned study is required to resolve the issue of - is there a new member problem and if so what is the cause? And ditto for all the other big issues that abolishonists have raised.
Well we live in the real world and sometimes big studies cost money and are hard to know how to do. So maybe what we'd like to do, to save some money and make it easier on ourselves is set our own destiny. In other words, we know that it is a myth that everyone comes here for the same reasons. The major argument on this issue sure has shown that well. So maybe we should pick the kind of user we are looking for and won't that make it easy because we know what some users like really, really well.
Hey that is a valid business method. I won't like the result of course. The only thing my camp can do is try to make the other view more attractive. Hence the long arguments and philosophical side lines that will probably ultimately fail if this route is taken. So if this is the reality, oh well, nice knowing ya. We can be grown ups and agree that sometimes the roads do part for these kinds of reasons. No need to insult, or pressure, or to be baffled by it.

I should be do more of that, at least those grays who are polite. I've gotten out of the habit. Quote
Starting Thursday, February 9th we will being to roll-out a chat system change to temporarily disable whispering for two-weeks.
@ Brad I believe the 2 week " temporarily disable whispering" trial is over. What is the verdict? I hope it will return. Quote

lol and will the model rise to take control of her room or will she be "protected" forever by software and designers

will the model rise to take control of her room
I hope so because I have been saying along the models should control their rooms and if people don't like the models' decisions they should frequent other rooms. Even in another thread Brad said if a member isn't happy with what is going on in a chat room they should go find another room more to their liking. Quote

Yep I think it is a win win. You will also see more diversity in types of rooms offered. I think certain types of models who have left the site might even return and offer thriving rooms showcasing a little different kind of experience than the "one true" room lol. Quote

LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering what would be next!
The option to twitter some models was a nice one. It makes a customer spend even more attention.
You can't send images in emails to models unless you're vip. You can't whisper unless you're vip. Models can't whisper either but do type on other sites which in my opinion is a greater disturbance then giving the models control over whispering. Let them decide who can and cannot whisper. And another thing; while I was chatting with a model here I logged on an affiliate site in her room too and noticed that the gold members chatting there only showed up on the affiliate site room and NOT in the room here unlike the white members. I can't help but think that any change made is to maximize repeat business as opposed to making the chat experience more user friendly. Like the most recent change: the fan sites. It's all a ruthless business move if you ask me. Quote
I think it was not whispering that was the problem, it was the utter fustration of not being able to make a connection.
Now the forum is replete with models complaining about how silent their rooms are.
Wonder what this place will look like a year from now. Quote
Frankly because it is widely abused and even the most creative ideas to curtail it are riddled with rules and stipulations.
the privates are not private to start with. You watch them as they perform and sensor anything we say. we have to watch what we say now all the time.
I disagree 100%. There are very few words that are filtered after the recent changes and fewer still that are filtered in private. What exactly are you trying to say?
I think this is taking away a means of the potential client to ask a model a question not all in room have to hear. I do not like it.
Perhaps, but maybe still another customer shares the same question? The open chat is for chatting, not for private conversations.
I appreciate your feedback both before this change and I look forward to what you have to say after its in place for a few days.
Brad
There is a simple way of telling a performer something that you do not wish the rest of the room to read, and that is to go pvt - even if only for a few seconds or a minute or two. Why should the rest of the room be inconvenienced for the sake of a few who want to say private things without actually paying the performer to do so? The other thing is that if you are having a conversation with a performer (in public) with a view to starting a private chat, it is very annoying if another member jumps the line without a by your leave. Come on boys - be polite to other members and indicate your intentions, and don't deprive the performer of earning a little bit more by having a private chat in whisper. Quote
Maybe there are excessive uses from it, but with silencing, banning, and kicking, what else do they need to keep it clean?
Whispering allowed me to make that connection. They took it away from me. I almost thank them, for I am saving 8.83 % more of my income since they have disallowed it.
It is ok to twiter on end and converse to everyone else everywhere else but we can`t whisper.
Whispering, to me was about trying to pay for it, not substituting it.
All changes since 2010 was to bash the customers.
and Trickey has noticed that patern. And he spoke up and I salute him. Quote

I used whispers primarily to help non-native English speakers with their English, and my efforts were almost universally appreciated. The only reason I'm a VIP now is that a new model sent me a pic of him, which I could open only by being a VIP.
Yes, I would welcome restoring whispering to all members, but then, I think I use the privilege with discretion. Quote
