I think it does with some models
I definitely care about interacting with my customers, but I am also here to make money. However, I do prefer to get to know people not just jack off and cum... Building a bond, connecting with my customer, and having a great time is important.
Also, I don't like when people are quiet in my room or in private... I like to converse and in private, I want to know you are satisfied, not just disappear when you are done without saying a word to me. Quote

Friendship makes for a nice private. When the model remembers you and things about you, and has shared some thoughts with you about them, then the private show becomes incredible. Axel_Harris who is now gone was really nice and was very good at this. He never pushed a private show but still got a lot of them because he had a certain sincerity about him.

With some conversation a little less ideal than desired, it helps to have someone in the chat you actually get along with and are on the same wavelength with. This is where whispers come in handy and make the long ass 3 hours you're trying to complete tolerable. Both are vital to making logging in worth-while. Hours spent here on-line is time you're not doing something else. This environment doesn't exactly lend itself to multi tasking.
