Agree with ronnie!
Thanks, Domenic.
Interested to know if any models have mentioned to VS that the old forum titles still appear on the models' screen menu and whether this has now been fixed.

There is information when a model signs up... to make themselves familiar with the site... er from a members perspective... great advice... how can a model promote themselves if they don't know how the member can..? Seen a model ask for boost points and member said ''sure how can l do that?'' she replied, ''er l don't know, click on my bio'' LMAO... ya okay stoopid... okay l digress... but a model should know and find out how the site looks to a member.. not by what he seen in his admin page... this is not up to vsmedia to make sure of anything.. the onus is on the model... end of my long story... xox
SL
ps... l could truly go on and on about members trying to get crucial info from models that had no freakin idea... duh
and again this is the models responsibility, and yep, gonna put it out there.. they are freakin lazy Quote

...Calm down Sara you have been here a long time, many models haven't and are just looking for a little help with no harm intended.
...This thread has been useful in that it has allowed for an open discussion and has been helpful in that way. Quote
Besides, a certain (in)famous female member usually stays off of this side, so it's usually much friendlier over here.
(Oh, and Sara's right. It's a model's fault if they're ignorant when it comes to knowing how this site works. Remember, models aren't employees of VS, they're contractors. Knowing what to do is up to THE MODEL, not their studio or VS. Wouldn't it be ridiculous if you hired a carpenter and they just showed up and started working on your house without having taken measurements?) Quote

Although the forum titles were changed in June 2011 to Male Performer Chat and Female Performer Chat, the performers' menu continued to show the forum titles as Gay Fantasies and straight Fantasies. This has now been corrected (May 2012).
The menu problem provided an excuse for some male performers to post in the wrong forum. They felt that it was OK to post in the Gay forum to attract male customers and the straight forum to attract female customers. Male performers no longer have that excuse!
As stated at the beginning of this topic, male performers should not post "I'm new" or "Online Now" or similar topics or posts in the Female Performers forum. (It also follows that female performers should not post similar topics or posts in the Male Performers forum). It is unnecessary, and just generates ill-feeling and negative (sometimes hostile) reactions.
Domenic helpfully pointed out at post #20 here that there are some types of topics where it is reasonable for male performers to post in the Female Performers forum and vice versa (eg appreciation or advice threads).
No reasonable person will complain if one performer wants to wish Happy Birthday to another Quote

Ronnie, what penalty do you consider to be appropriate for performers who post in the wrong forum now that they no longer have an excuse for doing so? It's a pretty serious offence, right?

Probably a similar penalty to those who post in the Games forum and don't follow the rules
As you have responded quickly on the point I could still edit my last post to say "it is recommended that male performers should not ...." . But I think that sounds a bit weak. Quote

I see that Kenon, Denny X, Darius Mann and others have also been promoting themselves in the Female forum and obviously some of the guys (and girls) there are getting annoyed. I don't think we would like it if the girls started posting "Hi I'm here" in some of the topics in this Male Performers forum. As others have said, these types of posts are a bit lame anyway.
Guys - please don't let the side down.
Obviousely you hadn't read the topic "forecst pics" in the male performers forum where female performer Gia Aya shamelessly premotes herself and doesn't even mention anything about the topic. Next is the topic "1" in the male performer chat and posted by Autumn Stone. Obviousely promoting herself in the male forum. And those were just two I noticed last week. To say something about guys doing this and not point out that females do the exact same thing (often) is extremely unfair. "I don't think we would like it if the girls started......" THEY ALREADY DO & HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME Quote

Well I guess you didn't get the point. It is unfair to single out the guys when the females do it too. There shouldn't be a double standard ie..... OK for females but not for males. Quote
I got your point. It seems you didn't get mine. Perhaps I was too subtle
Maybe to balance things out you should start a "Girls using the Male Performers forum" thread

This topic was started last September, Homo_Erectus. At that time there were considerably more topics and posts by male performers in the Female Performers forum than vice versa.
On your specific point I posted a couple of days ago in the following topic:

Alt hough I won't be starting the parallel topic in the Female Performers forum, with the title Jeffie mentioned, it is open to you or others to do so if you really think that is advisable. Quote

Well, I don't understand why people are assuming that the gay forum is only for guys, and the straight forum is only for females? The gay forum should be used for exactly what it's name states, "Gay" chats. This can mean girl on girl, meaning a girl customer or model speaking about a girl model,/customer and the same with a guy/guy. The straight forum should be used for a guy speaking about a female model/customer, and vice-versa.
I don't see how a guy model posting in the straight forum, advertising to straight female customers, is wrong? It's complying with the title of the forum "Straight Fantasies". Don't see why anyone should be based or punished for that.
Its not a Gay and straight Forum.. Its a Male and Female Forum. How does that make it gay or straight?
