Hi guys
I'm new here (well, a week now), and have a question on tipping etiquette. What is expected when in a private show, should I be tipping the performer or not? I don't mind tipping after the fact (usually back in open), but not sure if I should be doing it in private to get the model to do things for me.

I think that it is unnecessary for members to tip during a private show, when they are already paying 60 credits (or more, or less) for each minute of the show. Performers shouldn't expect it or demand it.

By all means give a tip afterwards, if you have enjoyed the private show.

ronnie has answered while I write this, and he's essentially right, yet I still wanna give my exhaustive reply:

The (subjective) answer depends very much on you and your relationship to the performer in question.

I believe it would be great to tip the model during the show to further motivate him. However, even with deals and offers some can be very lucrative for the performer, who knows the total amount of credits he will earn rather well, so again, relax and enjoy if you made a generous offer.
Other show types might include:
> For group shows single pledges can be very low, so tipping should be the common thing to do (but is not mandatory and most won't do it).
> In party chat the rule is to tip if you like what you see (and wanna see more). Most models will stop enticing their viewers when no or too few tips come in.
> Fan club shows, as an appreciation for performers to their (subscribed) fans are even more fun with the unexpected tip in between.

In any case: If you have special (fetish or out-of-scenario) requests you should tip the model for that. If you know the guy well you can ask him, wait for it to happen and tip then, BUT in most cases you should go first and prove you are not a beggar, which is a big problem on the site.

A general advice is to accompany a successful/satisfying private with the corresponding amount of boost points (that you earn in various ways, but primarily with credits spent). It does not cost you an extra credit, but immediately helps the model and shows that you liked the show with them just as much as an additional credit tip.

Keep in mind that any credits you tip during a private show will be taken from your wallet, thereby reducing the amount of time you may spend in private. For many members, this is probably not an issue, but if you are watching your budget--or are using a deal or have made an offer and had it accepted--and have allotted only so many credits for that private show (say, 600 credits for a 10-minute show), tipping any amount (for example, 60 credits) will decrease the length of the show (in this example, by 1 minute).

Depending on your account settings, you may end up with an unexpected charge if tipping affects the integrity of the deal used or the offer made. Again, in most members' cases this will likely not be an issue, but since the deal had specific terms, either it won't work and you'll get sent back into open when time runs out, or you'll get charged for the additional time...and in the case of an offer agreed to, if you run short of credits you may get charged so that the offer is fulfilled on your end.

a general rule of thumb even when the show is

ChrisDK thanks for your detailed response. Those are excellent suggestions for a newbie like me. It is usually easier in group/party, because I can go with the flow, but pvt was difficult for me because there is no one to take a cue from...
