This is the internet - but, it's your room. Take charge. Have fun. Everyone's there for you; the good customers, the bad, and the obnoxious. You gotta learn how to handle douchebags real quick if you want to work on the internet. Quote

actually its not the internet,it`s the human nature, people are always cruel to weak ones, and sometimes no matter how strong you are, you`re getting tired of being strong..complains or good educations won`t help this place anymore...it just become a big lake with gold coins inside but full of sharks. as always just my point of view and my ,its all i have for you guys, Signed: the guy that grew up on some ppl screens. No one is really there for me I don't get traffic I'm not as popular as people think I get the ignorant ones to curse me out or the lazy people who sit in my room and will not say hi

Mickey the site is full of non-talkers and pretty much nothing one can do about it. As for the haters the best approach is to respond with some witty comments like "Boy someone got out the bed on the wrong side ...dang glad it was not my bed".
Don't get upset or you will end up playing into their hands as they say. If it get real bad silence them ..sure to frustrate them because they can still comment I believe but nothing will go through. Listen to what Sencer said there as he is very knowledgeable about stuff on the site.
Hang in there as there are some very cool members to be found on the site. Quote

Mickey, it takes time to build up a fan base. Follow Johnny Fresh's advice. Focus on the nice people; attracting new customers. Do that by being yourself - the best, funnest, sexiest part of yourself - while you're online. Quote

Keep in mind some mentally challenged people get their
jollies verbally and physically abusing other...
Has been going on for years...since the beginning of time in fact...
When they do insult you, tell them to tip before they insult you...
not after or during...
If they tip generously it is OK (if you want)...
But I feel no money can buy a mans integrity and happiness..
BTW...DO use the ban button and report the SOB to whomever is
in charge of this mess lately...

I basically feel the same way. I don't get many trash talkers, but it has become pointless to even try on here anymore. I've logged 4 hours in the last two months, and when I do, it's all silent members and people looking for something for nothing. In order to boost my powerscore (which is the secret to success) I was told by my studio to pre-arrange 5 privates. Out of my 1300+ customers and the 1500+ people who favorited me, only one person took my offer. Many have disappeared and the ones who spent money were poached by the exhalted "eye "candy" (if you know what I mean).
From what I gather, if you're not a multi-year veteran, in your first two weeks, or "eye candy" (if you know what I mean), you're essentially screwed.
Don't believe the "it takes time to build a following" spiel, either. It's a myth. Only freeloaders or cheapskates visit rooms of models who aren't "eye candy" (if you know what I mean)or people who've been doing this for eons (6 months have felt like a eternity; 6 years is inconceivable).
Sadly, there is no delete option. You can get banned or just forget about it. I happened to have some VOD revenue, so I thought I'd try again. That was a mistake. Like I said above, it's pointless to even try on here anymore.
Good luck, though. Just know you're not the only one who is disgusted.

I personally can't be around performers who
(1) are on and off all the time. I need someone reliable, who has a clear schedule and informs me if - for whatever reasons that are not my business - there is a deviation from that. This does not have to be a daily time online, but clear enough that I can plan my visits.
(2) are moody. This is the worst. If you don't feel up to doing this, better stay offline for a few days, but don't bring any negative energy to your room. If I need to find out what a performer's mood is before considering a private then I will most likely not ask at all.
(3) make me feel bad, when I really just wanna spend some time talking. This is indeed one of the reasons I barely visit new rooms these days.
Moreover, you gotta accept the different types of people roaming this site:
>>> those who come here for getting off, fast, direct and on an impersonal level in prvt
> you won't be able to bind them for your fan base, they are most likely looking for a new face - that is a euphemism (if you know what I mean) - each time
> you can however give those guys a great show and keep your fingers crossed they liked it so much, that they'll be back
>>> those who come here to get off in prvt, stay for the cigarette after and chat a little before and after in open
> they are interesting and most likely easy-going people, you should definitely try to bond with this type!
>>> those who come to chat, leave a few tips in a party or just to "compliment" you, participate in a group and leave rather quickly when there's not much going on in your room
> be kind to them and they'll come back
>>> those who come to chat, admit they have no credits and "compliment" you without being rude in any way
> those guys can enhance the atmosphere in your room when you involve them into an ongoing conversation
> remind them every once in a while, that they might wanna give you boost points
>>> there are the seekers of sophistication, highly complicated people who'll reward what they love
> they need a long forerun to introduce themselves, their fetish/ideas/plans, to get to know you, they are perfectionists who want to make sure you are the ideal partner for what they look for
> can be a highly rewarding partnership everywhere (open/group/party/prvt)
> you need patience with those and don't ever make the mistake to become pushy with them
Never, ever push anybody into a prvt. Make them wanna press that button by teasing and flirting with them.
Obviously, I am not talking about those silent non-tippers, or rude people, who get off by getting you (and your entire room) angry, or simply getting your attention etc.
This is hard work, but there are many people here able to sustain themselves even with a smaller group of fans.
Patience and endurance are key, however, never ever let (show that) your mood drop(s).
I am sure there are more customer types, but that's all I could come up with right now. Quote

Julian, I'm not sure what you're disgusted about. You've been on Flirt for 6 months and amassed 250,000 + credits. That's awesome, man. And, you say you've only logged on a total of 4 hours in the last two months. So, your first 4 months were incredible.
Now, you say many of your fans have disappeared. But, it sounds more like you disappeared - you've been online 4 hours in 2 months. If you want your fans to find you - you do have to be here.
(From ChrisDK - you could try posting a schedule in your profile, even if it's a few hours a week.)

Sorry for saddening you, Chris. And thanks for your brainwashing/cloning efforts!
There are some great people on here; like anything, though, there are not-so-great people.
I guess I've always approached this gig like a strip club: if someone is on stage/display/etc., the tradition is to tip, even if it is a few credits. This pertains to party chat, mostly. If I do a party and no one tips, that is like saying "get off stage." So, if I do a party and no one tips, I take the hint and get off the proverbial stage (log out). If I don't do parties, my room stays empty. That's basically my situation unless someone messages me to set up a private, in which case I log on just for the private.
Thanks again, Chris

Thanks for your take, Dave. I guess I have disappeared to a certain degree. You have a good point there. My math was wrong, though - I sort of stopped around the end of May, so it hasn't been 2 whole months. Still, things were declining for some time before that.
I sent out a mail blast saying goodbye to everyone and then stopped until I saw I amassed some VOD credits while away.
As for the scheduling, I've tried that. It never seemed to work. Any success I've had seemed to be random. For example, I could have had bed-head and been wearing a pair of sweatpants and Hanes and gotten a long private. On the other hand, I could've dressed up in a sexy costume, styled my hair and things ended up super slow.
It's probable that I don't have the patience for this gig. I'm used to doing stuff where there is a guarantee. Camming is like fishing and I'm not much of a fisherman.
I am a stubborn, though! Because of that, part of me wants to try again and get back to a decent level of success. I'm just not sure if I have already gotten all I could get.
Does that make sense?

I'm sure you can be as successful as want. You've proven that. But, like you said, it takes patience; sticking with it long enough to figure out how to maintain that success.

Too fucking funny. I can totally see that. The only thing certain is nothing is certain. But, give it time and you might discover what works best for you -- I think you could market "Bed-head and Briefs" pretty fucking well.

"Bed head and briefs are to male cam performers as granny panties and rollers are to female cam performers."
I think I remember that being on the SAT test
Have a good weekend, guys. Quote
