hmm anemic... you actually dont get much iron from meat unless you eat things like *grossss* liver etc...but you can get great amounts in wheat sources. The one concern I had was iron depletion but I have been a vegetarian for a long time.My Dr. actually told me I can supplement my diet in many ways - one being cream of wheat lol - 30% or your recommended daily in just one little package! HOwever to get there I had to get iron shots which hurt like a b*&^%!
Dont get me wrong I used to looooove a good steak med-rare omg! but I decided to give it all up fish included because I just didnt feel the way animals are treated in order for them to end up on your plate was fair. It's not easy! I still crave sushi like a mf! Im not one of those activists that comes down on you for not being like me and Im happy to hear that you consciously make a decision to only eat things that are treated well. It's better for you anyway - more posative energy that way.
anyway - when r we going to go out for dinner - dont we live in the same city girl? So many kick ass veg/vegan friendly places here
PLUS we can always use hotties like you on any of our campaigns! You dont have to be veg. to support a good cause. Knowlege is power and it's all about educating people so they can make decisions based on what they have learned.
I eat gross types of meats, lol. But I eat a WHOLE load of beans and nuts and oatmeal and cream of wheat.. it's just I need that little "kick", perhaps a subconscious thing. But I do agree with you on going vegan for specific causes -- however, that is why I make sure I know where my food is coming from. One reason why I do not drink milk or any dairy unless is organic, local farm and I know the cows are treated properly. Otherwise, it's soy for me! I inhale enough chemicals in the air, thanks -- don't need it in my food! The poor cows being injected all the time to mass-produce milk.. causing their utters to infect, which releases pus and blood in to your milk which they disinfect and dye... MMMM MILK... .. ugh.
I pay the extra .25 cents to know my food is organic, and healthy -- and that the animals I do eat, if I do, are healthy and raised properly. I wouldn't mind going completely vegan however, it's just a craving every so often.. mm steak :|
But seriously, I will be lethargic all day every day.. I can sleep for 2 days straight if given the chance, when I am not eating properly and getting enough iron.. makes a huge difference! Also having to eat frequently is a big issue, to keep my energy up.
Ok we clearly have a lot to talk about LOL , so I will stop here. But I will say; your closing sentence is my life motto! I'll be in touch!
